Fusion #6

May 13, 2013

Good Morning, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
It sure was pleasant in my neck of the woods.

Today, I'm here to post a card I made for my mom.

I was completely inspired by the new Fusion Challenge!

This week's hypothesis:

This is such a great sketch!!!  I pulled colors from the photo, which I just love.
Plus, I wanted to incorporate the yellow cup with the white ♡ somehow.

The texture in the photo's background also inspired me to bust out an impression plate.
I'm so glad that I did.  Those tools tend to get overlooked around here.  But, that may change...

Well, Happy Monday! and thanks a bunch for the visit!

Cardstock: (PTI) select white, lemon yellow, berry sorbet
Patterned Paper: (Doodle Bug) flower box 6x6
Dies: (PTI) heart border, letters, hearts, linen/canvas impression (Simon Says Stamp) sm banner
Embellies: (SC) wood, (Kaiserkraft) jewels

  1. Great card...love that texture you added to your background!

  2. I really like your take on the challenge!! Love how you incorporated the cup with the white heart by putting the "mom" figure in it!! This card really caught my eye when I was looking at the thumbnails of all of the entries! :)Traci

  3. I love this card, Janelle! I bet your Mom loves it too! :-)

  4. What a great use of die cuts for this card, Janelle! It gives lots of texture and dimension - great embossed background as well.

  5. Love, love all your hearts Janelle!
So glad you joined in the fun experimenting @ FUSION - hope to see you again soon :)

  6. Janelle, you were so smart to grab the colors from one and the sketch from the other-I didn't think of that! Your mom will love this!

  7. I love your card Janelle! The textured background, the heart die border at the top and the wood veneer girl are all perfect little details that give this card big punch! I'm sure your Mom loved it!!! And I wanted to say thank you, too, for leaving me a sweet message on my blog :)

  8. Oh I love this...so very fun! So glad that you joined us at Fusion!
