Back on the Hop

August 25, 2013

Hello!
I'm back again with another card for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.
Here is the inspiration combo that I chose to work with...

And here is my card...

The pie pieces on the sketch had me wanting to make a folded/layered burlap flower.
The rest just came together and was so much fun!

Gotta run... Happy Hopping!

PTI Aug Blog Hoppin'

Hello!
Today is the day for the August Blog Hop over at Papertrey Ink.
There are so many great sketches, color combos, and inspiration photos.
Beware of possible stimulation overload!

See what I mean?!?
I couldn't resist this sketch and color combo.
With that amazing cake for inspiration, a birthday card was in order.

And lots of glitter!
Lot and lots of glitter!

To achieve these glittery strips, I used 1/2" Scor-Tape on the color coordinating cardstock.  Then I cut my strips to size, removed the backing of the Scor-Tape, and then covered the sticky side with glitter.

I'm hoping to get another card made and linked up for the hop today...
If not, I've got these beauty sketches ready for future cards (wink).
Thanks a bunch for stopping by!
Happy hopping!!

Best Wishes...

August 18, 2013

Hello!
While my daughter is napping, I found some time to sneak away to make a card for a dear friend of mine.  She had hip replacement surgery the other day and I thought a cheery card will go nicely with the dinner I'm delivering her family tomorrow.

I recently picked up a pack of printed cardstock chips by Pebbles.
A really great assortment of goodies!
This flower bouquet was among them and thought my friend would like this color combo.

The sketch is from a new challenge out there called Seize the Sketch.
The link had already closed by the time I made this card, but I just love this sketch!!

Already looking forward to the next sketch...
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Thank you for stopping by!
Until next time...

Birthday Bash

August 17, 2013

Hello!
There is a BIG Birthday Bash going on over at the Pretty Pink Posh blog.
Celebrating one year of 10 Minute Craft Dash challenges.

I knew I had to join the fun, but it wasn't until I got my Studio Calico Project Life kit for this month that I knew what my card design would be.  Among the 3x4 PL cards, I found this little darling that simply said 'food & fun'.  It screamed to be used on a birthday card!

So, with this card and a few other supplies, I went to work against the clock.  Again, I tried to make my card at a normal pace... but, as soon as I see the timer pass 3 minutes the pace starts to pick up.  Then, after 5 minutes, the pace gets even faster.  At eight minutes the panic really sets in.  Finally, relief settles in after hitting stop on timer with a finished card.

This was a close one!
I think the sequin placements took up the most time, too.  Not to mention the fact that the final card never quite turns out exactly how you had envisioned.  All part of the fun!

Happy Birthday 10 Minute Craft Dash!

Buttoned Celebration

August 13, 2013

Hello!
It feels like forever since I last posted...
I've been busy driving across the state with my daughter to visit with my mom and sister.  Then upon returning home, we've had back to back guests at our house!  But, I couldn't let the current challenges over at Cas-ual Fridays and CAS(e) this Sketch slip by.

CFC111: Keeping it Clean And Simple-that means lots and lots and lots of "white" space-
show us how much fun you can have with buttons.

I love using buttons!  My collection is larger than I'd like to admit.
However, they are organized in little jars by color which just makes me smile.

For my card, I decided to go with a buttoned fashion theme.
Dress form, pins, ribbon, buttons...

Lots of fun playing along this week!
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Triangle Obsession

August 4, 2013

Hello!
Yes, I'm back with another card covered in triangles...
What can I say?  Triangles are trendy-riffic!

I had this thought to use some larger and longer triangles.  After much playing, I landed on this layered alternating pattern.  I adhered them to the white panel, added a sentiment and a few enamel dots, and then placed that to the card base with some foam tape.

The colors over at colourQ were too hard to resist.
So, I used my best matching cardstock in order to play along.

Plus, the Trendy Triangle Challenge is still open over at Moxie Fab World.
Have you joined in on the fun over there yet?  You really should!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
 Until next time...
