Fusion #8

May 29, 2013

Gonna keep this really quick.
(see EDIT below)
Didn't think I was going to join the Fusion challenge this week.
But, here I am racing to the finish line.

 And my card...

Thanks for stopping by.  I will update later today.

EDIT:
I'm back to fill in the gaps...

Ever have one of those 'ah ha!' moments?  Well, that is how this card came about.
And, well, I can't really remember what that moment was.
But, the end result was this card.

I used PTI's Watercolor Wonder set for the blue and aqua brush strokes.  It was my first time inking it up and this really is an amazing set!  Then I inked up a flower with multiple layers, using a wet paint brush between layers to give a watercolor feel.

With a little help from my daughter, everything else kind of fell in place after that.  Pearls, Glimmer Mist, Thickers, and finally the sentiment (Simon Says Stamp).  My little one was 'helping' by pulling stuff out of drawers and off of shelves, and doing what a 17 month old does best :)  So, I have to give her total credit for using the Thickers.

No doubt about this being a challenge this week.  But, so glad that I played along.  I'm already looking forward to inking up that Watercolor Wonder set again soon!  And of course, waiting to see what the next Fusion Challenge will be.

Hello!
I'm here with a card for the new Fusion Challenge.

Below is this week's hypothesis:

I say this every week... but, what a great sketch! and the inspiration photo!!!
So, after brainstorming for days...  I decided to use the sketch.
Then I pulled the polka dots, twine, kraft, and a flower from the pic.

I had so much fun putting these goodies together!
And the polka dots are embossed with the Zing powder in butter.
Love those Zing powders and all of the great colors they come in.

Well, this card is off to my friend who recently gave birth to her 1st.
I am so excited for them and their new little bundle.  Can't wait to meet her!

Thank you for the visit!

Good Morning, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
It sure was pleasant in my neck of the woods.

Today, I'm here to post a card I made for my mom.
♡♡♡

I was completely inspired by the new Fusion Challenge!

This week's hypothesis:

This is such a great sketch!!!  I pulled colors from the photo, which I just love.
Plus, I wanted to incorporate the yellow cup with the white ♡ somehow.

The texture in the photo's background also inspired me to bust out an impression plate.
I'm so glad that I did.  Those tools tend to get overlooked around here.  But, that may change...

Well, Happy Monday! and thanks a bunch for the visit!

Good Morning!
I'm on a roll here... coming in at the last minute again.

Here is this week's hypothesis:

And here is my card:

Love this challenge!
Once again, there was so much given between the sketch and photo to grab inspiration from.  My eye was constantly drawn to the bright blue bird cage.  Then, the beautiful flowers...  I tried to use similar colors, even with the soft stone card base and the white label.  Throw in a little inspiration from the sketch... and viola!

Thanks for stopping by.  If you have any questions about the supplies I used, please let me know in a comment.  I will try to add a supplies list in the future :)
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Good Morning!
Just trying to get my card in at the last second here.

This week's hypothesis:

 This week's card:

I don't know why, but I kind of struggled this week.
It may have been caused by a little inspiration overload.

Ultimately, I ended up using the sketch.
I really enjoyed playing with my inks, and busting out the
super popular gold embossing powder and sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
