Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

January 25, 2015

http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2015/01/january-2015-blog-hop.html

Hello!  I am so excited... because today is the 25th of the month.  Which means Blog Hop
over at Papertrey Ink.... And I have a card to share!  Yeah!!

Again, I found a pocket card among my collection from Studio Calico Project Life kits.  This card had these lovely hearts on it which I then fussy cut... Then I die cut that swirly 'hello'.  The scripty swirls make me swoon... This die is from Studio Calico.  It is NBUS that is going to get lots of use!

I stamped 'friend' from the Wet Paint set by PTI using Smoky Shadow ink.  This was on a strip of white cardstock adhered directly to the white card base.  I'm really diggin' the mix of the swirly font of the die with the crisp linear font of the stamp.  Then, foam adhesive was used to adhere the hearts. And a few white sequins were the finishing touch.

Not only was I thinking of a special friend, but I had a few other challenges in mind while I was creating it, too.  The cue card at CASology is 'friend'... The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is 'Have a Heart'... And I love the sketches over at CAS(E) this sketch.  I usually take sketches very literal.  So, I really enjoyed stretching the creative limit on this one.  Too much fun!

Back on the Hop

August 25, 2013

Hello!
I'm back again with another card for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.
Here is the inspiration combo that I chose to work with...

And here is my card...

The pie pieces on the sketch had me wanting to make a folded/layered burlap flower.
The rest just came together and was so much fun!

Gotta run... Happy Hopping!

PTI Aug Blog Hoppin'

Hello!
Today is the day for the August Blog Hop over at Papertrey Ink.
There are so many great sketches, color combos, and inspiration photos.
Beware of possible stimulation overload!

See what I mean?!?
I couldn't resist this sketch and color combo.
With that amazing cake for inspiration, a birthday card was in order.

And lots of glitter!
Lot and lots of glitter!

To achieve these glittery strips, I used 1/2" Scor-Tape on the color coordinating cardstock.  Then I cut my strips to size, removed the backing of the Scor-Tape, and then covered the sticky side with glitter.

I'm hoping to get another card made and linked up for the hop today...
If not, I've got these beauty sketches ready for future cards (wink).
Thanks a bunch for stopping by!
Happy hopping!!

janelle

2, 4, 6, 8

July 25, 2013

Hello!
The card I'm sharing today fits a few different challenges...
I typically don't combine challenges, but this time it just kind of all came together.

The challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays is to include numbers.  The chant, "2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate" popped in to my head...  And, so I decided to create a thank you card.

CFC110: Use a number or numbers on your CAS creation
You have until noon eastern on July 31st.

Next, I chose a color combo from the PTI Blog Hop "Fruits of Summer".  This took awhile with so many wonderful combos to chose from!  Finally the citrus combo came out the favorite, but I ended up dropping the orange from the group...

How to add a sentiment stumped me at first.  The thing was that I didn't want to cover the numbers too much.  Then I drew inspiration from Nicole over at PTI.  I've always liked the look of her vellum sentiment strips, so I thought I'd give it a shot here.  Viola!

Finally, I was inspired by the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.
Great sketch, don't you think?
ETA: missed the link deadline (again)

Well, that's all for now...
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Enjoy hopping & have a fabulous day!

janelle

Midas Touch

June 25, 2013

Hi!  I'm so glad you decided to visit.
And, I'm guessing that you probably made your way here from this month's

If not, check out the inspiration for the challenge.

Fun, right?!  Well, here is the card I created...

I really like all of the trendy gold goodies at the moment.
So, I hope I didn't go too overboard.
There are a few different gold touches used on this card...
Some gold embossing, a little gold color mist, and a sprinkle of gold sequins.

Here's a little close up of this fun grouping.
Yes, if you look close enough, the print on the leaves is about fishing.  I tore a page out of one of my husband's old fishing club newspapers.  That's all I could find in the house for newsprint!  I'm sure the recipient and/or her sons will notice and enjoy the little detail.  There are many members of my family who really like fishing.

Thanks again for the visit & enjoy hopping!
