Flutterby : Tuesday Trigger

July 27, 2013

 Hello!
It's really late here, but I couldn't pass up the chance to play along with the current Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World blog.  Check out the inspiration...

How lovely are these colors?
Funny, but I was really drawn to the grey shapes between the paints that were created by their shadows.  So, that is where I started with my design.

Next, I added butterflies punched out from cardstock that best matched the colors in the inspiration photo.  Then finished it off with a little sentiment in the corner.

Well, I'm off to bed now.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello!
Have you tried the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge?

I think I'm hooked!
Plus, the new challenge consists of a fun color combo which was hard to resist.  As Paulina said so herself, "...a fresh color palette that can be used for all sorts of occasions."

The current sketch over at Retro Sketches looked really fun.  So, I decided to combine the challenges.  I don't know about you, but I haven't made a square card in forever!

With sketch and design in mind, I gathered up some supplies & tools, hit start on the good ol' iphone stopwatch, and proceeded to make my card.

8:30.3

Whoo-hoo!
With this card, I really tried hard to go at a normal pace instead of the insane speed I used the first time I tried this timed challenge.  However, when those minutes started accumulating, my pace certainly began to pick up as well.  (haha!)

Plus, I thought I'd use my foam dots instead of cutting foam pieces from a roll to save time... Not so much.  I found that I have a harder time getting the backs off of the dots.
Oh well.  I learn something new with every challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

janelle

2, 4, 6, 8

July 25, 2013

Hello!
The card I'm sharing today fits a few different challenges...
I typically don't combine challenges, but this time it just kind of all came together.

The challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays is to include numbers.  The chant, "2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate" popped in to my head...  And, so I decided to create a thank you card.

CFC110: Use a number or numbers on your CAS creation
You have until noon eastern on July 31st.

Next, I chose a color combo from the PTI Blog Hop "Fruits of Summer".  This took awhile with so many wonderful combos to chose from!  Finally the citrus combo came out the favorite, but I ended up dropping the orange from the group...

How to add a sentiment stumped me at first.  The thing was that I didn't want to cover the numbers too much.  Then I drew inspiration from Nicole over at PTI.  I've always liked the look of her vellum sentiment strips, so I thought I'd give it a shot here.  Viola!

Finally, I was inspired by the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.
Great sketch, don't you think?
ETA: missed the link deadline (again)

Well, that's all for now...
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Enjoy hopping & have a fabulous day!

janelle

Bon Voyage : CFC 109

July 18, 2013

Hello!
Just finished my card for this week's challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays.

CFC109: Clean And Simple creations (watch that "white" space) with polka dots

I've been working this design in my head for days now.  Thought I had it figured out when I went to bed last night... But, a couple more changes were made this morning when I went to create it.  The whole time though, I tried to keep in mind the advice to 'watch our white space'.  Turned out to be 'cream space' for this card. (wink)

That open dot background stamp is one of my favorites!

Well, gotta run & get this linked up...
Thanks for stopping by!
